What we do

We Are All America (WAAA) is a national refugee and immigrant-led movement steering the emergence of an effective national organizing infrastructure to mobilize public support for people fleeing violence and persecution, counter nativist forces, and develop more welcoming policies and practices in this area at the federal and state levels. Most importantly, WAAA is a campaign that emerged from the immigrant rights movement and refugee resettlement coalitions, and it is the only campaign of its kind in the USA. We have established a collaborative ecosystem between these two movements to create a better America for all.

Thanks to our Steering Committee members and their partners, WAAA has increased the number of state-based organizers from five states in 2017 to all 50 states today. Our collective field represents the most significant national grassroots organizing effort on behalf of refugees and immigrants in the nation, serving over 50 million people across the U.S. — primarily composed of organizers who, themselves, have come to the US as refugees and asylees and are overwhelmingly from Middle Eastern, African, Asian, South American and Muslim backgrounds.
